"X" SOAP DISH
The shape of this soap dish was inspired by a desire to eliminate residue build-up that bar soap often leaves in crevices. By making the form as open as possible, water has fewer places to pool, keeping the soap and the dish clean for longer.
To mitigate transferring the pattern of the dish onto a soft bar of soap, I used a pattern similar to a comb to evenly distribute the weight of the soap across the edge of the structure.
Because of the use of large gaps throughout the form, even when the soap will inevitably transfer onto the dish, briefly holding the dish up to a faucet will be enough to get the surfaces clean again.
